There's No Place Like Home

As many of you know, Cory has been back across the Atlantic for the past week. After some convincing, my doctor agreed to let me travel home to Abilene and stay a few days to help break up the time my sweet husband was away. It was SO nice to be home, especially since this almost 8 month pregnant body gets worn out pretty quickly!! My mom was a great help with Christopher and my dad decided to come back to Dallas with us so he has been helping out since we've been back home. I'm so blessed to have such willing and able parents who will always step up when I need them!

While I was in Abilene, I was able to catch up with one of my oldest and dearest friends, Allison. She has a little boy just a couple months younger than Christopher and a six month old little girl. We had so much fun watching our little boys play together! Baby Grace was sleeping while I was there so I only got to peek at her, but what a cutie!! I always love getting to spend time with Allison, she is such a special person and I am so thankful that we have kept in touch all these years.

I think the highlight of Christopher's trip to Edie's house was getting to play with the dogs. He absolutely adores my mom's dog, Etta. He was always wanting to give her hugs and pet her. He requested several times that I take a picture of the two of them together. He also had lots of fun riding his big-wheel up and down the driveway. His little feet can really get going on that thing!!

Look how fast I can go!

For those of you that know Abilene, you will be able to appreciate this next picture. My grandmother has a sewing club that meets on a regular basis...I think maybe every other week or so. Anyway, it is just a small group of her close friends and they sit around and knit or crochet while they visit and pass around pictures of their grand kids and great-grand kids. Well, while we were there this week we were invited to attend sewing club. Keep in mind this is a very difficult invitation to come by! My grandmother was so excited for her little friends to see Christopher. We had a great time!

Christopher's first sewing club experience...my grandmother is the cute lady in the green shirt in the middle.

Cory returns to US soil on Saturday and Christopher and I can't wait!!!

How fun! I didn't know you got to see Allison and go to sewing club. I'm sure Grandmother loved showing you and Christopher off!

Glad you had a great trip and such a great family. It is so important to get your rest now...My husband is gone a lot too and his parents and my parents keep me sane during the time he is away.
