You know you are a mother of two when...

  • You go shopping with your one month old baby (sans other child) and it is so easy it almost feels like a vacation!
  • You look down at your deflated belly and think back to when you were a little girl staring at your mother's stretched out tummy, and she tells you yours will look that way someday too.  You thought then that wasn't possible, but now you have discovered that she was right...again.
  • While shopping for something to wear to a dinner you have a fleeting thought to actually look in Talbots. And to my cousins that read this, it was only a thought and it was very fleeting.
But you also know...
  • To cherish and enjoy every tiny "coo" and movement they make, even at 3 a.m., because you know it really does go by so fast.
  • That no matter the age of your older child, all of a sudden they seem so grown up to you.  You remind yourself over and over that they are still young, only to lie awake at night and tearfully think about all the times during the day you expected too much out of them.
  • That there really is room in your heart to love another one just the same.
I love being a mom.  I truly believe it was what I was put on this Earth to do.  It is not always easy and there are many times I think I don't do a good job (but that is normal right?), but still, I love it.

Happy Mother's Day to all of the moms that read this!

Don't go to the dark side....avoid Talbots! I don't think I could ever shop with you again.

You're a wonderful mom and Christopher and Lucy are blessed to have you! I hope I have as much patience as you do when I'm a mom one day, and loving, hallarious, sweet, and beautiful children like you!

You are a great Mom! Happy Mother's Day!

I agree with your lists here. Although I have shopped at Talbots...I have already gone into the abis and cannot return!

I agree that you were put on this earth to be a mother (and wife) and you are the best at both of them!

I love you!

It's okay to walk on the dark side sometimes. I personally have some very cute items from Talbots. You don't have to go for the complete ensemble! Besides, at my Talbots in College Station there are some very cute college girls sporting their clothes!

You are so true in all of your mommy observations. Someday you will long for that baby that wants to snuggle with you, and one that is actually small enough to hold! But as they grow you will find pride and joy in all (most) that they do!

And now that you mention it, I think I may have a dress from Talbots! *blush*

You are doing a beautiful job as a mother. As I have told you many times, your loving patience, kindness and gentleness with your children is my greatest joy as I watch with pride the wonderful young lady, wife and mother that you have become. I love you...Mom
