Happy Easter!

We had a great time celebrating Easter today. Christopher had some eggs to find first thing this morning when he woke up. As soon as he found one he would open up the egg and become very excited about the Hershey Kiss that was inside. Cory and I thought it was so cute how with each egg, the excitement was still there and very genuine, even though all the eggs had basically the same thing in there!

We went to church and took our friends and neighbors, the Dubes with us. The service was beautiful. It is always such joy to sing "Christ the Lord is risen today!" I always think of all the churches filled with people probably singing the very same hymn at the very same time. Then I think of the tomb, all those thousands of years ago and what that must have been like to experience the risen Christ.

After church, the Dubes came over here and the boys hunted some more eggs and we ate a very casual lunch. This preggo was not about to cook a big meal so I ordered some salads and no one went hungry. The boys were so funny finding their eggs. Since Christopher had gotten a little practice earlier this morning, he seemed to have the idea down. As we would try to point out some eggs to Drew, Christopher usually ended up swooping in for the steal. But my little angel was so sweet and instead of keeping the eggs for himself, he kindly gave the ones that he found to his friend.

Here are some pics from the day:

Please notice the Christmas PJ's

Christopher in his Easter outfit. FYI, to those of you reading this who might not appreciate his style. I would dress my child like this everyday if I could. However, he is way too BOY and would ruin these nice clothes if I did.

Using bubbles to try and get the boys to look at the camera. It didn't quite have the effect we were hoping for!

The Locke Family - quite possibly the last time there will only be 3 people in the picture!

I hope you all had a blessed Easter!

Countdown Calendar

About a week ago, I started a "countdown to baby calendar" with Christopher. In similar fashion to the Advent Calendar, each day until the baby comes, he gets to open one "door" on the calendar and inside there is some fun activity for us to do. He actually really likes it. It is about the only thing that sort of has to do with the baby that seems to interest him. He refuses to read any of the books I've gotten or anything like that so I think he is pretty much going to be in total shock when he has to share his Mommy and Daddy with someone else!

Christopher and his calendar

Anyway, today the card from the calendar said that we could go get ice cream together. Right after lunch, we heard the ice cream truck driving by. So instead of taking him up to Cold Stone as I had originally planned, we ran outside (actually my cousin, Beth physically chased after the truck) to buy our ice cream. Of course it turned out to be the biggest mess but we enjoyed eating outside in the sun after all the rain yesterday!

Enjoying our frozen treat!

That was YUMMY!

Celebrating Baby Locke

On Friday night, my neighborhood bunco group threw me a little baby shower! My sweet neighbor, Stephanie, organized it and I had such a great time! I feel so blessed to be surrounded by so many people who share in our excitement for the newest addition to our family. The baby received some wonderful gifts. When I got home and showed them all to Cory we both realized what a reality this is really becoming. Cory kept saying things like, "I can't believe in less than 4 weeks there will be a real baby using those things." I kept saying things like, "I still have so much to do before April 3rd," I hope Baby Locke doesn't have any plans on arriving early!!

Anyway, here are some pictures from Friday night. Again, I have to give special thanks to my neighbor, Stephanie. Please notice the cake that she made. She also made Cory's birthday cake for me, if any of you remember reading that post. She is really VERY talented. With so many of our neighborhood mommies in attendance on Friday night, she's liable to be hit up for some additional business now!!!

A sweet lullaby book from Amy.

The official Peeky Boo Baby nursing blanket! One of my friends has recently started a business selling these fabulous little nursing blankets. Visit their website at www.peekyboobaby.com

Adorable hooded frog towel from Stephanie.

The cake! Or should I say, the work of art!!

Little Boys

While I was downloading our pictures from the snow, I came across a couple of pics of Christopher I have been meaning to share. Just little snipets of the fun things that happen during my days with him. He can always bring a smile to my face!

We recently got Christopher his first computer game....I know, awful parents right? Well, in my defense it is a Dr. Seuss ABC game based on one of Dr. Seuss's books that Christopher loves. At any rate, he does enjoy playing it and he has really gotten pretty good at it. The other day, I walked into our study to find him like this:

He had managed to get his wooden stool up on top of our $15 Ikea chair so he could see better without sitting on his knees. I couldn't help but laugh and take his picture. I did have to explain to him that he shouldn't do that again since the chair probably weighs less than the stool!

Another day, I walked into our study to find my son looking like this:

Yes, those are a pair of my boots.

This last one is one of our favorites. Every night Christopher has to gather up these stuffed animals he calls his "friends" to sleep with. The always consist of "Puppy" the beloved dog that contains his binky inside, "Brownie" a stuffed horse from my mom, "Bear", and "Blankie". Sometimes he invites "The Grouchy Ladybug" and his Little Einsteins, "Annie" doll. Well, every morning he comes into our room with his arms overloaded with his "friends". Cory and I really get a kick out of it because some mornings you can't even see his face, just this mound of walking stuffed toys.

"Look at all that snow!"

Those were the words consistently coming out of my little boy's mouth all afternoon. It didn't take any time for the ground to be covered and Christopher was ready to get out and play in the snow by the time Daddy got home. The two of them made a great snowman!

Sadly, our Frosty only managed to stay standing just about long enough for the picture. He collapsed shortly after we came inside. Christopher didn't seem to care though, he just enjoyed getting to have fun in the snow!

Bad Blogger

So I have officially become a bad blogger. For a while there, I was doing so well with taking my camera with me everywhere we went. I have not been as great with that lately. So tonight, I have decided to give you all an update of our lives, minus the wonderful pictures that are typically included in my posts.

The 1 Month Mark
This past Monday was exactly one month until our scheduled c-section! We are getting very excited about the arrival of the newest addition to the Locke family, not to mention pretty curious as to whether or not we will be welcoming a little boy or a little girl. My belly continues to grow (I will post pictures of that soon, I promise), my hands and feet have begun to swell, and I have a definite waddle to my walk. I am really feeling that "at the end" exhaustion as well. I'm trying to enjoy these last few weeks of being pregnant, but it is getting more and more difficult. However, as I have told several people recently, as ready as I am to not have a human living inside me, I'm not quite sure I am ready for another human to be living in my house!! It is much easier to take care of this little one while it resides in my uterus rather than the other bedroom upstairs!!

My-Gym!
In an attempt to really enjoy these last few weeks with only one child, and make the most out of my one-on-one time with Christopher, we signed up for a My-Gym class. We go together for an hour every Wednesday morning and Christopher has an absolute ball!! We had done one of these classes a while back, shortly after we moved to Texas, and Christopher wasn't even one yet. My how different it is to watch him in the gym now. He is all over the place, jumping, rolling, sliding, and climbing. I can tell he really does enjoy it and I love watching him have so much fun.

Happy Birthday Cade!
Just wanted to wish our good friend Cade Braaten a Happy 2nd Birthday today! Welcome to the 2's Cade (and Cade's Mommy who gets to enjoy them even more than he does!!!)

Theories Anyone??
OK, most of you who read this blog know that I am a TV addict. I have several favorite shows and watch them all religiously...TiVO has been a wonderful addition to my life! Well, this year has been a little sad in the entertainment area due to the writer's strike that has recently ended. Yippee!! My shows will soon return!!! However, since January 31st, one show has been on and has me so intrigued I can hardly stand it....LOST!!! So, I'm blogging about this to try and get other people's opinions about what the heck is going on on that show!!! Post a comment if you have a theory....I'm very interested to know what it is!!!

All for now....I will post some pictures soon!
