As many of you know, Cory has been back across the Atlantic for the past week. After some convincing, my doctor agreed to let me travel home to Abilene and stay a few days to help break up the time my sweet husband was away. It was SO nice to be home, especially since this almost 8 month pregnant body gets worn out pretty quickly!! My mom was a great help with Christopher and my dad decided to come back to Dallas with us so he has been helping out since we've been back home. I'm so blessed to have such willing and able parents who will always step up when I need them!
While I was in Abilene, I was able to catch up with one of my oldest and dearest friends, Allison. She has a little boy just a couple months younger than Christopher and a six month old little girl. We had so much fun watching our little boys play together! Baby Grace was sleeping while I was there so I only got to peek at her, but what a cutie!! I always love getting to spend time with Allison, she is such a special person and I am so thankful that we have kept in touch all these years.
Allison and Luke, Stephanie and Christopher
I think the highlight of Christopher's trip to Edie's house was getting to play with the dogs. He absolutely adores my mom's dog, Etta. He was always wanting to give her hugs and pet her. He requested several times that I take a picture of the two of them together. He also had lots of fun riding his big-wheel up and down the driveway. His little feet can really get going on that thing!!
Look how fast I can go!
For those of you that know Abilene, you will be able to appreciate this next picture. My grandmother has a sewing club that meets on a regular basis...I think maybe every other week or so. Anyway, it is just a small group of her close friends and they sit around and knit or crochet while they visit and pass around pictures of their grand kids and great-grand kids. Well, while we were there this week we were invited to attend sewing club. Keep in mind this is a very difficult invitation to come by! My grandmother was so excited for her little friends to see Christopher. We had a great time!
Christopher's first sewing club experience...my grandmother is the cute lady in the green shirt in the middle.
Cory returns to US soil on Saturday and Christopher and I can't wait!!!

One Year Cancer Free!
This week, my aunt Pattie celebrates her one year anniversary of being a breast cancer survivor. She was diagnosed last January and in February she had a double mastectomy. We are all so happy that one year later she is cancer free and as healthy as can be!!
My cousin Beth decided to throw a surprise dinner party in her mom's honor to celebrate the occasion. Several family members made the trip to Dallas for it as well as some of my aunts close friends. We gathered last night a Luna de Noche in Richardson. My aunt thought she was going to dinner at Kirby's Steakhouse but my uncle told some story about investigating a new dentist in the shopping center where Luna is located. When they pulled in the parking lot, we all walked out of the restaurant to surprise her. I have to say that I don't think I have ever seen her that surprised! It was so much fun! Way to go Beth with a fabulous idea, thanks again Bart for treating us to dinner, AND thank you Lord for my aunt's wonderful health...Love you Pattie!
Surprise!
Completely shocked!

Please Pray
Our very dear friends, Josh and Deb, have received some devastating news. Their son Noah, who is almost 6 months old, has been diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder that is causing degeneration of the white matter in his brain. Noah struggles with feeding issues and his development has slowed as well. There is no treatment for this condition, only a management of the symptoms as they develop. Life expectancy cannot be predicted at this time but it is unlikely to exceed 10 years.
I am at a loss of words. My heart is completely broken for them as I cannot imagine what they must be going through. Deb and Josh are two of the strongest Christian people that I know and Noah is so blessed to have them as parents. They have great faith in the Lord and of course are turning to Him for strength with this recent development in their lives. I ask you to please join me in lifting them up in prayer and to please pray for little Noah to be healed.
