Yesterday we celebrated Cory's birthday. We had a nice low-key day starting with church, an afternoon of football, dinner at Babes, presents, and homemade birthday cake for dessert. Yes, you read that right, I decided to make Cory's birthday cake this year. Christopher helped me pick out the decorations and got to choose the icing colors that we used, and of course he helped me decorate it too! I should have looked a little closer when were at the store getting the goods because the sprinkles he picked out were flavored...green apple and blue raspberry!!! Nice. Not exactly the kind of thing you want to top your cake with but we went with it and Christopher said they were very good. I attempted to make the cake into the shape of a golf flag on a green. My sweet husband kindly pointed out to me that most golf flags are square, but I thought the cake would be cuter with a triangular flag. I'm certainly no pro but I don't think it turned out too bad for my first try at a "shaped" cake.
See where Christopher wrote "Daddy" with the icing pen? Not too bad for a three year old, huh?
Happy Birthday to the best husband and father anyone could ask for! We love you!!

Good job on the cake. You can tell Cory that Joshua's putting green came with flags and those flags are triangles.
Hope you had a great birthday Cory!! Love, Shawna
so sweet.
Following in Uncle Johnny's footsteps! Good job!
